Redefining What’s Possible

Challenge
For nearly 60 years, Illinois Valley Plastics has been a trusted global partner in thermoplastics. In 2011, the company was looking for a newer, simpler brand identity that would better reach their key audiences—existing clients and new customers. Simantel was selected as the agency to help achieve this goal.

Simantel’s Approach
Using Simantel’s strategic research approach, we found the name IVP Plastics resonated with targeted audiences better than the existing name. People were already referring to the company as IVP, for short, and we also discovered that the use of the words “Illinois Valley” in the brand’s name had been limiting IVP Plastics’ desired national reach.

From there, we developed a strategy to launch the new brand identity. We created a new logo and developed new messaging, including the tagline: Redefining what’s possible. We redesigned creative materials to accompany the new identity, such as a business collateral, brochure, brand guidelines, and signage. We also developed a new website and an overview video, for which Simantel also handled the production, to better connect IVP Plastics with its customers and showcase the brand’s capabilities and expertise.

IVP Plastics’ new messaging positions the thermoplastics company as the bridge between idea and end results, creating unique yet functional products that deliver real value.
