As a Web Developer, my objective is:
To develop digital web solutions for the agency and its clients, as well as educate others in best practices for web development. Collaborate with a cross-functional team, including designers and content creators, to ensure a seamless implementation of user-friendly, mobile responsive, and visually appealing websites.
This is a Hybrid or full-time Remote position. Hybrid if you live in the Central Illinois area, which requires you to be in the Peoria, IL office Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday with the option to work from home Monday and Friday.
The outcomes I need to produce for clients are:
- Responsive and interactive websites that align with the client’s brand and design
- Website templates developed from design files
- Well-maintained and optimized websites, with regular updates to ensure optimal performance, usability, and security, as well as identifying and fixing bugs. This includes setting up hosting environments and managing domain servers.
- Content that is updated and managed, including images and multimedia elements, ensuring functionality across different browsers and devices
- Comprehensive documentation on website development, with web updates managed through version control software such as Git
The outcomes I need to produce for the agency are:
- The ability to interpret requirements documentation and translate it into functional web components
- Clear documentation and reporting of the status of the technical build
- Accurate estimates for the defined scope of work
- Staying current with web development trends, tools, and best practices
- Proactive suggestions and implementation of improvements to enhance the website’s user experience
- Serving as the subject matter expert (SME) for development questions, escalating issues to senior leadership when needed
- Effective collaboration with designers, UX and strategists during the design process
To produce these outcomes, I need to:
- Be proficient in application database integrations
- Have knowledge of UX and UI design principals, with a solid understanding of web design principles and cross-browser capabilities
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills and ability to work with a high-level of autonomy
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality assurance and error-free execution
- Have a resourceful and get-it done orientation
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work cross-departmental to develop, configure, and maintain solutions
The skills and abilities I require are:
- Minimum 2+ years of front-end developer experience
- Experience and/or certification in the following:
- Adobe Experience Manager (and plug ins)
- JAVA
- WordPress
- Elementor
- PHP
- Drupal
- HTML
- CSS
- JavaScript
- React
- Angular
- Git or other version control software
- SQL
- Experience working in an agency environment required
- Portfolio of web development projects is highly desirable
- Experience using Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, Sketch a plus
- Proven track record of successful project delivery, meeting deadlines, and managing multiple priorities
