Strength. Courage. Wisdom. Enlightenment. Those are the qualities that ATHENA International seeks in winners of its leadership award (named after the Greek goddess). And we have to agree—Simantel owner Susie Ketterer fits the bill. Susie recently received this prestigious honor during the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s annual Community Thanksgiving Luncheon. In particular, she was recognized for:

  • Achieving the highest levels of professional excellence.
  • Contributing time and energy to improve the quality of life for others in the community.
  • Actively assisting others—particularly women—in realizing their leadership potential.

“I know Susie as someone who has incredible energy, dedication and passion for the things that are important to her, whether at work, in the community or with her family,” said fellow owner Kevin McConaghy, who has worked with Susie for the past 28 years.

“She is someone who cares a lot about doing what’s right, she inspires those around her and she brings out the best in others,” said owner Maggie Whalen.

Simantel thanks the community leaders who nominated Susie, as well as our local Chamber.
Please feel free to wish her well at susiek@simantel.com.
