Cullinan Properties, Inc., a leading provider of commercial and mixed-use real estate services, hosted an open roundtable discussion this week at its Peoria office on the topic: Business Resolutions for 2013.

The company invited Simantel owner and Vice President/Executive Creative Director Maggie Whalen to be part of the distinguished panel—three additional businesses joined Simantel, including Central States Media, Sweet CeCe’s and Menold Construction and Restoration.

Twenty individuals from a variety of local businesses attended the event. The panel spoke about the 2013 business goals for his/her individual company. Additionally, they discussed the impact social media has on businesses, methods to measure metrics and results, and lastly, how they each use an assortment of marketing techniques to enhance their business as well as their clients. Whalen, along with others, agreed building relationships is a primary marketing tool that people should use for business growth and retention.

“We need to think small in terms of being nimble, avoiding unnecessary layers, not making it difficult to do business with us … to make sure clients have access to anyone they need at Simantel to meet their objectives. Small will get us closer to our clients which, in turn, will get our clients closer to their customers,” said Whalen.

The event also served as a great networking opportunity for everyone in attendance.

Simantel would like to thank Kim Lehew of Cullinan Properties for the opportunity to share our insights, and also all event attendees for participating.
