While the calendar may still say winter, Salesforce is already gearing up for growth with its Spring ’25 release. This rollout brings a host of updates designed to enhance functionality, improve user experience and help businesses work smarter. The main release dates to keep on your radar are January 11, 2025, February 8, 2025, and February 14, 2025. Your specific release date will depend on your Salesforce instance, so be sure to check your schedule to stay ahead of the curve.

We know keeping track of every change can feel overwhelming, but we’ve got you covered. In this post, we’ll zero in on five key updates that will have the greatest impact on your overall Salesforce experience. From feature enhancements to productivity-boosting tools, these updates are packed with potential and we’re here to help you take full advantage of them.

Here are five actionable steps to make the most of Salesforce’s Spring ’25 Release and set your organization up for success.

1)  Add *.salesforce-setup.com to your list of allowed domains: Setup pages are now hosted on *.salesforce-setup.com. To ensure that Setup pages in Lightning Experience display content properly when third-party cookies are blocked, your IT department must add *.salesforce-setup.com to the list of allowed domains. If your users have unrestricted access to the internet, no action is required.

2) Enable “Require first-party use of Salesforce cookies”: Enabling “Require first-party use of Salesforce cookies” under the My Domain setting will allow you to test custom functionality and code that uses a Salesforce session cookie and support users that block third-party cookies. This setting will be enforced in a future release.

3) Streamline your new record workflow with quick redirects: When creating a new record using quick action (either default or custom), you will be automatically redirected to the record when you click on the toast message. Toast messages are brief notifications that inform users about an event (such as a newly created event). This redirect will streamline your workflow by allowing you to continue working on the newly created record.  Previously, when a new record was created, it would go back to where the record was created rather than to the record itself. This new update allows you to go straight to the newly created record.

4) Verify your return Email Address in My Email Settings: Emails will fail to send from your return email address unless it is verified. Verify your email address in My Email Settings by selecting “Resend Verification Email” and clicking the link in the email. If you can’t access the resend option, then your email address has already been verified. You’ll receive one verification email (with the verification link) per release until Spring ’25.

5) Select your preferred contact method when talking to your Salesforce Account Executive: When requesting a call from your Salesforce Account Executive about a product, you are now able to confirm your contact information, select a preferred contact method and provide details about your request. This update makes it easier to connect and get the support you need.
