The agency’s growth coupled with a commitment to the Greater Peoria region contributed to a decision to open its second location in the MAXAM Building.
Peoria, IL — Simantel, a leading marketing and advertising agency, has recently expanded into a second location at the MAXAM Building, located at 316 SW Washington Street in downtown Peoria. The new physical footprint supports the agency’s growth, doubles its physical space and solidifies the agency’s commitment to the Greater Peoria region.
“The post-pandemic return-to-work was unchartered territory for so many businesses,” said Tim Leesman, principal at Simantel. “As we were having conversations about how to transition our employees back into the office environment, we were also experiencing significant growth in our workforce that required more physical space.”
Simantel previously built out the space in the agency’s headquarters, located at 321 SW Water Street, but with rapidly growing headcount, Simantel leaders quickly realized that they needed even more space. With an employee roster topping out at over 160 individuals, the agency considered possibilities both inside and outside the region.
“Ultimately, we agreed that this is our home,” said Leesman. “We are downtown Peoria. It’s part of our DNA. It’s part of our culture. We wanted to build on that.”
Simantel’s MAXAM location — situated directly across the alley from its original location — is a conversion of the second-floor former banquet venue. Now it’s home to 45 Simantel team-members, collaborative meeting spaces and areas for employees, clients and visitors to relax and connect.
Chris Moehn, VP, Executive Creative Director, at Simantel led the buildout and redesign of the space. “The minute we walked into the space, we knew it was exactly what we wanted,” said Moehn. “We created a space that encourages creativity, and that people are proud to work in.”
Other features of the new space include: a workshop space where employees and clients can gather to innovate and create, a podcast studio, a bar and a hand-painted mural by a local artist.
“Simantel is an ideal fit for the building, and I couldn’t be happier to welcome them here,” said property owner, Andrew Driscoll. “In a time when we’re seeing businesses reducing scope, it’s encouraging to see Simantel expanding their footprint in downtown Peoria and including the MAXAM as part of their growth.” The MAXAM building is home to other area businesses, including CSE Software and Hall Rustom.
